About the Role

The University of Iowa Healthcare department of Environmental Services is seeking a skilled Custodian to provide a safe, clean, and healthy environment for patients, guests, visitors, and staff. This position is scheduled to work first shift with rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general cleaning duties, including trash removal and stock supplies for carts and custodial areas.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, refill restroom supplies, and maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the facility.
  • Dust, vacuum, sweep, and damp mop hard surface floors, as well as clean carpets and perform unit/bed making.
  • Operate various types of custodial equipment and perform other tasks as assigned.
Working Environment

This position is performed fully on campus and may have Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Risk.

We are responsible for the upkeep and cleaning of over 2.8 million square feet of the hospital, providing support through 24/7 operations. Our commitment is to provide the highest quality of environmental care services to maintain a functional and safe environment for patients, staff, visitors, and other individuals served by The University of Iowa Healthcare.
