Financial Planning and Analysis Professional

Byron Search Partners is seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) professional to join our client, a leading credit-focused mortgage REIT. As a key member of the finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's financial strategy and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain internal financial models and forecasts, including multiple scenarios and their impact on company financials.
  • Prepare in-depth financial analysis of the investment portfolio, including asset performance, credit risk modeling, interest rate sensitivity, and prepayment risk.
  • Implement and enhance FP&A processes, tools, and systems to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Develop and manage the annual G&A budgeting process, working closely with department heads to allocate resources effectively and accurately.
  • Assist with investor relations activities, including preparing and maintaining quarterly investor presentations.
  • Develop and assist with ad-hoc analysis to support strategic decision making and capital market activities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather data, provide financial insights, and support business decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in building and managing financial models, budgets, and forecasts.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in mortgage finance or the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage finance, including residential whole loans, mortgage-backed securities, hedges, warehouse lines, and securitization.
  • Highly advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or Accounting. MBA or CFA a strong plus.
  • A strong interest in financial markets and knowledge of economic fundamentals.
Compensation:

The annual base salary is currently projected as $120,000 - $200,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus.
