Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at Livingstone College. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, credit card, and investment accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Record deferred revenue transactions and prepare monthly sales and tax remittances.
  • Maintain the College's credit card program and provide expense training and assistance to college employees.
  • Supervise and prepare journal entries and process, including review for purpose, accuracy, completeness, documentation, and correct coding.
  • Assist in the creation of financial and other reports, as well as perform accounting projects assigned by the Controller or Budget Director.
  • Regularly reconcile other balance sheet accounts and prepare annual audit reports to reconcile account balances and activity.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree with accounting or finance coursework.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Be detail-oriented, dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with accounting concepts and principles.
  • Exhibit professionalism and a strong work ethic.
  • Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks and to work well with others.
