At the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia, our mission is to provide comprehensive retirement services and safeguard plan investments. As the largest public retirement system in the State of Georgia, we seek a highly skilled Retirement Account Specialist to join our team.

The Member Services Division is currently seeking a Retirement Account Specialist in Atlanta, GA, who will be responsible for processing new retirement applications and ensuring accurate account management.

Job Description

  • Review and verify member eligibility for retirement benefits according to state and federal laws, as well as TRS policies.
  • Audit member accounts to ensure correct creditable service and benefits have been posted correctly.
  • Communicate with members and employers to ensure receipt of required documentation and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Process active death accounts to determine eligibility for benefits and audit accounts for accuracy of service credit and contributions.
  • Request necessary certification, documentation, and records from previous and current employers, members, and beneficiaries.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to high-volume telephone calls and written inquiries regarding application status and other issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance from an accredited college or university.

Salary and Benefits

We offer an estimated salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
