Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain process for discipline master schedules.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to gather necessary information and input for schedule creation and updates.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, incorporating all project phases, activities, and milestones.
  • Regularly review and update project schedules to reflect actual progress, delays, and changes.
  • Prepare progress reports and communicate scheduling updates to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Work closely with the estimating team to integrate project timelines into bid proposals.
  • Anticipate and proactively address scheduling conflicts and resource constraints.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide insights on schedule-related matters.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement scheduling best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Assist in the identification of critical paths, potential risks, and opportunities for schedule optimization.
  • Monitor long-term schedules to ensure they align with operational requirements and objectives.
  • Assist in resource planning, including manpower, equipment, and materials, based on demand, project timelines, and available resources.
  • Collaborate with department heads, supervisors, and team leaders to understand their scheduling needs and priorities.
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment across departments to meet scheduling requirements.
  • Collect and analyze data related to resource usage, scheduling efficiency, and productivity.
  • Use data insights to assist project management in making informed decisions and improve scheduling processes.
  • Utilize scheduling software and tools to create and manage schedules.
  • Stay updated with software features and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure that schedules meet quality and service level standards.
  • Provide timely and accurate updating of project schedules.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay informed about industry-specific regulations and labor laws affecting scheduling and workforce management.
  • Ensure compliance with these regulations in all scheduling activities.
  • Assist in development of contingency plans for handling unexpected events, such as equipment breakdowns or workforce/material shortages, to minimize disruptions.
  • Generate regular reports on scheduling performance, including key metrics and actionable recommendations.
  • Provide training to staff on scheduling processes and best practices.
  • Encourage professional growth and development within the scheduling department.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management software and scheduling tools, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar.
  • Proven experience in project scheduling for heavy civil construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Resource loading and analysis of data into schedules as required – Primavera.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction claims and change orders related to scheduling impacts.
