About the Role

As a District Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of stores and coach a team of General Managers to deliver exceptional customer and employee experiences, operational excellence, and profitable sales growth. You will be accountable for driving consistent high performance across all initiatives and ensuring consistency between stores as measured by financial reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attract, hire, develop, and retain top talent to meet short and long-term business goals.
  • Monitor performance and follow up to ensure results are delivered.
  • Develop individual and team performance and capabilities through clear expectations, intentional conversations, recognition, and accountability.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Identify product performance themes across the portfolio and create a district merchandising plan to drive excellence.
  • Lead effective store visits to drive behaviors that deliver results in all areas of the business.
  • Identify and use multiple strategies to achieve goals when faced with obstacles.
  • Solve problems with sustainable solutions.
  • Maintain awareness of the external market and competition.
  • Ensure stores operate in compliance with Gap Inc. policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to drive results, execute direction, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to build merchandising capability and coach to sustain merchant strength in stores.
  • Ability to build diverse, high-performing teams with an inclusive environment.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences through all channels.
  • Ability to continually adapt to challenges, take risks, learn fast, and enable change.
  • Ability to achieve beyond expectations and take actions to exceed existing goals.
  • College degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of multi-unit, high-volume, complex business leadership experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel overnight and/or between stores as required.
  • Ability to lift and carry 30lbs.
