About this role

At Doge Labs, Inc., we're revolutionizing the VR gaming experience with BIG BALLERS VR, the top sports game in the VR world. We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to lead the development of our LiveOps API, handling hundreds of millions of requests daily.

As a key member of our small, highly skilled team, you'll collaborate directly with our co-founders to create highly scalable, reliable, and useful systems. Your expertise will be crucial in implementing critical API systems to support gameplay, core infrastructure, networking, streaming, and AI.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading backend engineering for BIG BALLERS VR
  • Implementing critical API systems
  • Collaborating with co-founders
  • Optimizing APIs for low latency and high bandwidth traffic
  • Driving backend hiring and team growth
  • Enforcing modern security practices

We're looking for someone with a passion for simplifying development, a commitment to continuous learning, and a strong sense of teamwork. Experience in designing, shipping, and enhancing features to improve user experience is a must. Nice to have: experience with Unity and real-time or streaming applications.
