About the Role:

Context Labs is seeking a highly skilled Principal Backend Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our Immutably Platform and analytics spaces. As a key member of our development team, you will lead the design and implementation of our platform services, APIs, and related product capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the API services engineering team.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality APIs and services for the Immutably Platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and estimate business requirements and translate them into software tasks.
  • Lead hands-on software development in various projects and languages, ensuring the delivery of performant, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Provide code reviews, technical talks, and design documentation to ensure best practices and knowledge sharing.
  • Coach and mentor team members to enhance their technical skills and contribute to the team's growth.
  • Coordinate with distributed teams across multiple time zones to ensure seamless collaboration.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in full-stack development, with a strong focus on backend engineering.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • End-to-end understanding of modern application architectures, with a focus on microservices and APIs.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented development, unit testing, and API development.
  • Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Quarkus, and Helidon, as well as Docker, Kubernetes, and RDBMS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement complex solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with functional programming and languages other than Java.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
