Job Title: Principal Landscape Architect

At Toole Design, we are seeking an experienced and talented Principal Landscape Architect to join our Raleigh, NC office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading projects with a focus on public realm and active transportation, and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects with unique challenges that encourage creative and critical thinking.

About the Role:
  • Lead projects with a focus on public realm and active transportation
  • Collaborate with a talented team of designers, planners, and engineers to deliver high-quality project solutions
  • Develop and manage project proposals, including crafting proposal messaging, scopes, and fees
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building relationships with new clients and growing our landscape architecture practice
  • Apply your broad knowledge of design technical criteria and methods, spatial design, and hands-on management experience to a variety of landscape architecture and urban design projects

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in Landscape Architecture
  • 15+ years of progressive landscape architecture experience
  • Licensure or ability to complete licensure within one year of employment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in streetscape design, project programming, master planning, site design, and all design phases
  • Strong proficiency with hand and digital graphic techniques to communicate design ideas and produce illustrative graphics
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, AutoCAD
  • An interest in streetscapes and multimodal transportation design
  • A client-service attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong project management skills, including development of project staffing and schedules, developing and monitoring project budgets, cost estimating, and specifications
