Job Title: Principal Landscape Architect

We are seeking an experienced and talented Principal Landscape Architect to join our team in Raleigh, NC. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading projects with a focus on public realm and active transportation, and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects with unique challenges that encourage creative and critical thinking.

About the Role:

  • Lead projects with a focus on public realm and active transportation
  • Collaborate with our team of planners, landscape architects, and engineers to deliver high-quality projects
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and staffing plans
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and build relationships with new clients
  • Grow our landscape architecture practice and build our portfolio as a core Toole Design service practice area

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in Landscape Architecture
  • 15+ years of progressive landscape architecture experience
  • Licensure or ability to complete licensure within one year of employment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in streetscape design, project programming, master planning, site design, and all design phases
  • Strong proficiency with hand and digital graphic techniques to communicate design ideas and produce illustrative graphics
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, AutoCAD
  • An interest in streetscapes and multimodal transportation design
  • A client-service attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong project management skills including development of project staffing and schedules, developing and monitoring project budgets, cost estimating and specifications
