Position: Echocardiography Technician - Nuvance Health

Overview: The Echocardiography Technician plays a crucial role in delivering top-notch echocardiography services, ensuring that patients receive timely and accurate diagnostic imaging. This position is vital for supporting the healthcare needs of the community.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive echocardiographic examinations across various age demographics, ensuring the highest quality of imaging.
2. Prepare and guide patients, their families, and healthcare providers through the echocardiographic process, clarifying the purpose and procedure involved.

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in the operation of echocardiographic machinery, adapting techniques and calculations to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  2. Ensure all documentation, including video recordings and data entry, is completed accurately and promptly.
  3. Maintain an organized workspace and manage supplies effectively, scheduling patient appointments efficiently while collaborating with other departments.
  4. Collaborate as a vital team member within the Echo lab and broader cardiology department, fulfilling all required shifts.
  5. Engage in the decision-making processes related to laboratory procedures, proposing enhancements to optimize workflow while upholding quality standards.
  6. Participate in educational initiatives and quality assurance meetings at various levels, ensuring ongoing professional development in the field.
  7. Adhere to all compliance requirements associated with the role.
  8. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Education program with a focus on cardiac studies. Certification in Echocardiography from ARDMAS or CCI within two years of employment.
Preferred: Associate's Degree and a minimum of one year of relevant experience.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on contractual union pay structure.
