Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist
Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the quality of spacecraft and products during production operations. This role requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate corrective actions with manufacturing, ATLO, and engineering teams.
- Maintain systems to ensure quality and traceability of incoming materials and final products.
- Interface with design and manufacturing engineering, manufacturing, materials, procurement, and shipping personnel on procedural issues.
- Monitor manufacturing processes through audits and daily evaluations to ensure compliance with approved specifications and standards.
- Document discrepancies during manufacturing and test operations.
- Perform verifications and document results in a clear and precise manner.
- Travel to support operations as needed.
- Support other inspection areas as defined by Millennium Space Systems leadership.
- Develop, implement, and audit inspection and test plans, acceptance criteria, and in-process work instructions.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and resolution with manufacturing and production area DRs.
- Assist in conducting annual audits and systems surveys.
- Make recommendations to company leadership on process improvements.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of MES systems.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience as a quality inspector in an aerospace or equivalent high-reliability field.
- Experience with measuring instruments and advanced knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
- Advanced knowledge of product manufacturing, assembly, test, and inspection processes.
- Working knowledge of process auditing techniques and experience in performing inspections of aerospace components.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and internal and external specifications.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic and be innovative, detail-oriented, and team-oriented.
- Applicants must pass a practical exam.
- This position requires the ability to apply for a TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance.
