Environmental Chemist

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Analytical Chemist to join our team at Consolidated Safety Services. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for conducting environmental analyses using advanced instrumental techniques, including gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Your expertise will be crucial in providing high-quality analytical data to support our clients' environmental monitoring and remediation efforts.
Responsibilities- Conduct environmental analyses using GC/MS and other instrumental techniques to determine the presence of toxic industrial chemicals, chemical warfare agents, and their breakdown products.
- Develop and implement new analytical methods and procedures to improve the accuracy and efficiency of our laboratory operations.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure the smooth operation of our laboratory facilities and equipment.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our analytical data.
- Communicate complex analytical results to clients and stakeholders through written reports and presentations.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related physical science.
- 3-5 years of experience in environmental laboratory operations, including experience with GC/MS and other instrumental techniques.
- Knowledge of EPA methods for organic chemistry and OSHA HazWoper certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
