Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Monitor I to join our team at a correctional facility. As a Security Monitor I, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise resident movement within the assigned unit or area, ensuring the safety and security of all individuals.
- Report resident accidents or injuries to supervisor and conduct thorough investigations.
- Provide orientation to new residents and ensure a smooth transition into the facility.
- Perform scheduled resident headcounts and complete written count reports, maintaining accurate records.
- Conduct daily inspections and searches of resident sleeping quarters and body searches as necessary, upholding facility policies and procedures.
- Monitor security cameras to maintain a safe and secure environment for residents and staff.
- Enforce facility rules of conduct with residents, promoting a positive and respectful environment.
- Supervise resident visitations, ensuring the safety and security of all individuals involved.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; one year of general work experience.
- Ability to serve as a model for resident behavior, demonstrating good interpersonal skills.
- Required skills include time management and organizational skills, with the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
- Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Ability to work overtime, as needed, and maintain a flexible schedule.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $20.25 and a sign-on bonus.
