We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman Careers. As a key member of our Mission Planning and Decision Support Operating Unit, you will play a critical role in the development of MS Windows and cloud-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop Operational Concepts: Translate customer requirements into software specifications by developing CONOPs, performing functional analysis, requirements allocation, decomposition, and interface definition.
- Collaborate with Software Development Team: Work closely with the software development team to implement new capabilities and ensure requirements are met.
- Support Agile Development: Support iterative development of UI/UX concepts and designs with customer feedback.
- Perform Trade Studies: Conduct trade studies to support design approaches and software/hardware selection.
- Education: BS or higher degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an ABET accredited university.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in System Engineering activities such as operational concept development, architecture definition, requirements development and management, verification and validation, authoring whitepapers and performing trade studies.
- Clearance: Active DoD Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5 years and ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance.
- Skills: Experience using military aircraft mission planning systems, systems engineering experience migrating desktop applications to cloud native, experience with mathematical algorithm development, MATLAB, modeling/simulation, experience with UI/UX development, experience in scripting/programming languages such as Python, PowerShell,.Net, Java, C, and C#, experience with Software Security Engineering, IA/Cybersecurity and industry platform hardening practices, such as DISA STIG Implementation.
