Empowering Girls Fitness Instructor

Community Education/More Than Pink
Primary Job Function:
The role involves offering support, direction, and oversight to young female participants, leading engaging activities, and instructing in an enthusiastic and positive manner. The instructor will involve participants in physical activities, including preparation for a 5K run. More Than Pink encourages girls to remain authentic and free from societal expectations. This program is designed to empower girls over an 8-week period by merging 5K training with lessons that promote body positivity, self-expression, and personal strengths. No previous running experience is required; all fitness levels are welcome.
Assignment:
The program operates on specified days and times throughout the scheduled period.
Wage:
Starting compensation is competitive.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and implement age-appropriate activities aligned with the More Than Pink curriculum provided.
- Oversee both indoor and outdoor exercises, actively participating in all activities and the 5K.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and enjoyable environment for participants.
- Facilitate discussions on various topics, including social issues, body changes, confidence building, and relationships.
- Uphold a high standard of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in education, child development, recreation, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated successful experience working with elementary-aged children.
- Proven track record in program leadership.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to connect well with both children and adults.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proven history of punctuality and reliability.
