Concrete Finisher

Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team. As a Concrete Finisher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient completion of our trenchless rehabilitation projects.

The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for smoothing and finishing surfaces after materials have been applied to various surfaces within the trenchless rehabilitation process. This role requires strong physical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Represent the company with professionalism and integrity, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
• Work effectively with supervisors and crew members to ensure successful inspections, cleanings, repairs, and rehabilitation of sewer, drain, and conduit pipes.
• Check and set forms to ensure proper construction and alignment.
• Spread, level, and smooth concrete using various tools and equipment.
• Monitor the curing process of concrete and take necessary actions to ensure optimal results.
• Mix and apply concrete, grout, or slurry as needed.
• Repair damaged areas, drill holes for reinforcing rods, and position rods to repair concrete.
• Clean and prepare surfaces for bonding, filling holes and cracks with grout or slurry, and smoothing the surface.
• Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surfaces and waterproof or restore them.
• Load materials and equipment into vehicles for transportation to and from job sites.
• Assist equipment operators as needed to ensure effective completion of work.
• Enter manholes when necessary and ensure the site is left clean before leaving.

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working in a physical labor position and/or outdoor construction preferred.
• Ability to work overtime and out of town.
• Ability to enter and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift over 50 lbs.
