About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team in Vernon Hills, Illinois.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that will split time between Interventional Services Suite and the main OR. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing the surgical field and supplies/instruments delivered to the field, verifying instrument/supply/equipment availability, and assisting in opening sterile supplies and instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the surgical field and supplies/instruments delivered to the field
  • Verify instrument/supply/equipment availability and readiness per physician preference card
  • Assist in opening sterile supplies and instruments
  • Efficiently utilize supplies to avoid waste and decrease costs
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide a cooperative work environment
Requirements
  • Graduate of surgical technologist program or 2 years of surgical scrub experience
  • CPR certified
  • Ability to work with exposures to body fluids, waste, and chemicals, radiation, hazardous materials, anesthesia gases, and life-threatening diseases
  • On-call availability (nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Rotating shifts
