Job Summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a skilled Dialysis Staff Nurse to join our team at our North County Dialysis location. As a key member of our hemodialysis unit, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our in-center hemodialysis unit.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the delivery of patient care by technician staff and perform initiation, monitoring, and termination of treatment as needed.
  • Complete patient assessments, observe, monitor, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition, administer dialysis medications, and receive reports from staff members on patients under their care; complete all required documentation, including primary nurse responsibilities.
  • Review patient data and communicate accurate and pertinent information to the charge nurse or physician, charting entries appropriately.
  • Perform work according to nursing and facility standards, inclusive of safety protocols, following state and facility guidelines.
  • Perform, verify, and document water system safely checks per unit policy; any findings outside the normal range must be reported to the Chief Maintenance Technician.
  • Respond to patient and staff concerns in a timely and appropriate manner; pertinent information is reported to the charge nurse or nurse administrator while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Educate new and existing patients and their families on the policies and procedures of the clinic, proper fluid control, and treatment adherence.

P.N - Diploma In Practical Nursing

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross, Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Registered Nurse - Missouri Division of Professional Registration

Work Experience:
Nursing (1 Year)

Salary Range
$50.81 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade, and department budget.
