Dialysis Technician II

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a skilled Dialysis Technician II to join our team. As a Dialysis Technician II, you will be responsible for performing duties related to patient care, including initiating and terminating dialysis treatments, performing phlebotomy, and maintaining records. You will also be responsible for responding to the needs of patients treated in the outpatient dialysis setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrange and maintain equipment and supplies for dialysis and other procedures, including preparation of dialysate solutions.
- Perform cannulation, initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatment.
- Observe and monitor patient vital signs and significant dialysis treatment parameters; assess patient signs and symptoms and provide treatment accordingly.
- Communicate pertinent patient information or changes in patient condition to the team leader; document these results per unit's policies.
- Transport, weigh, and assist patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and chairs.
- Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines and respond to patient concerns in a timely manner.

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross, Basic Life Support - CPR St Louis, Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) - Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC), Certified Hemodialysis Practitioner/Technician (CHT) - Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing Technology (BONENT)
