Advanced Practice Provider in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Duke University is a leading academic medical center seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with attending physicians and other APPs, providing direct patient care, conducting consultations, collecting and documenting data, assisting in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and ordering laboratory studies.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in Women's Health as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. They will be responsible for managing obstetric and postpartum care, gynecological care, and other miscellaneous tasks such as analyzing clinical practice patterns and communicating with healthcare providers.

To excel in this role, the candidate should possess a Master's degree in Nursing (for Nurse Practitioners) or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program (for Physician Assistants). National certification as a NP or PA is also required. Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to work weekends and extended/alternative hours are essential.

Job Requirements:
  • Nurse Practitioners: Must complete an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Physician Assistants: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a Bachelor's degree; a Master's degree is strongly preferred.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Nurse Practitioners: Must hold current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina. National certification as a NP is required prior to or within 6 months of employment.
  • Physician Assistants: Must be licensed in North Carolina and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
