KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivate and maintain customer relationships within a collaborative sales framework.
  • Oversee product deliveries according to the established routing timetable from the logistics team; address any issues that arise during the order fulfillment process (e.g., delivery errors, insufficient loads, inventory shortages).
  • Engage in communication and collection of accounts receivable as needed, coordinating with the finance department and clients; ensure all outstanding balances are collected in accordance with agreed credit terms.
  • Utilize additional resources to capitalize on significant market penetration opportunities and initiate new client accounts.
  • Generate new business by identifying potential clients through market research databases, business directories, referrals from current clients, involvement in industry organizations, and attendance at trade exhibitions and conferences.
  • Stay informed about market trends, product advancements, and competitor offerings, sharing insights with clients as part of the value-added services provided.
  • Travel to current and prospective clients to guarantee product delivery, which may involve lifting and carrying items weighing up to 75lbs.

District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact.


External:
Clients, suppliers, potential customers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly operates outside the office environment, engaging with clients in varying weather and temperature conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 1 year of sales experience preferred.
  • Experience in the foodservice sector, culinary arts, restaurant management, or hospitality preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with effective presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to establish relationships both internally and externally, with a focus on cold calling to generate new business.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • A competitive nature and results-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient problem-solving, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office; experience with Customer Relationship Management tools preferred (e.g., Salesforce).

In Washington, the expected compensation for this role is between $61,500 and $92,250.

This role is also eligible for incentive pay.
