Job Overview

As a vital member of our team, the Planner/Buyer will be responsible for overseeing the planning and acquisition of goods and services essential for our operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct sourcing, planning, and negotiation activities to place purchase orders for materials and services that support production operations.

• Develop and implement a commodity management strategy aligned with the company's supply chain objectives.

• Utilize the Oracle ERP system to forecast requirements, manage purchase orders, and ensure data accuracy.

• Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, delivery, and quality metrics.

• Analyze inventory data to determine optimal order quantities and lead times, ensuring alignment of supply with demand.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to guarantee timely delivery of materials that meet specifications and quality standards.

• Monitor purchasing activities to ensure compliance with organizational needs, including quality assurance and timely supplier deliveries.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is preferred; mechanical engineering knowledge is advantageous.

• Experience in commodity management, particularly in metals, fabrication, or mechanical assemblies is desirable.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement, Planning, Supply Chain, or Materials is preferred.

• Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM or CSCP are a plus.

• Proficient in ERP planning systems, with Oracle experience being an advantage.

• Strong skills in MS Office applications.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.

Work Environment

• The role primarily involves working in an office setting, with occasional visits to warehouses or customer sites for research and observation.

• The position may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

• Occasional travel may be necessary.
