Position Purpose
This is a multifaceted role within a vibrant nonprofit organization dedicated to providing community-driven, volunteer-supported disaster relief. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing the operations team to ensure efficient and effective logistical support for program initiatives.
Reporting Relationships
- Reports to: Program Director
- Roles reporting to this position: Volunteer Relations Coordinator

Essential Functions
- Provide supportive leadership, management, and strategic planning for the overall operations of the program.
- Oversee the Operations Team to establish a streamlined and effective operational base, ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and managing a proficient staff team tailored to meet the specific needs of affected communities.
- Support the Program Director and Recovery Manager in empowering staff to perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with All Hands and Hearts' policies and procedures; implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Recovery Manager and team to develop, implement, and review the program's Emergency and Evacuation Procedures, as well as Health, Safety, and Security protocols.
- Engage with local partners to foster collaboration between our organization and their entities.
- Ensure proper communication, training, and rehearsal of contingency plans, while organizing regular risk assessments.
- Communicate program performance and escalate issues to the Program Director.
- Facilitate training and skill development for staff and volunteers.
- Assist with petty cash management and itemized credit card transactions.
- Covid-19 vaccination is strongly recommended but no longer a requirement for program staff.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Position Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Related Experience: Minimum of 1 year working in a disaster relief organization, preferably with All Hands and Hearts. At least 1 year of experience in a management role, including budget tracking and reporting.
- Special Competencies/Certifications: Valid driver's license. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets. Candidates should be well-organized and adaptable in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively. The individual must be capable of handling a substantial workload and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Typical starting salary ranges from $16 - $17 USD per hour, with potential for $18 for highly qualified candidates with relevant experience.
