Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric Gastroenterology Specialist to join our team at Boys Town National Research Hospital. As a Staff Gastroenterologist, you will be responsible for providing specialized medical and surgical care to our patients and referral patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide Care to GI Patients: You will be responsible for providing care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders in both hospital and clinic environments.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Team Member: You will serve as a medical member of the multi-disciplinary evaluation and remediation team, with a focus on the care of children with digestive system problems.
  • Research and Development: You will design and conduct clinical and/or basic research projects in the area of gastroenterology, as approved by the Director of Boys Town National Research Hospital.
  • Collaboration and Education: You will cooperate with other Hospital staff members in the conduct of clinical and/or basic research projects and participate in various educational programs developed by Boys Town National Research Hospital.
  • Program Development: You will participate in the development of program/project objectives, sub-objectives, and staffing needs for the medical program.
  • Special Projects: You will undertake special projects as directed by the Director of Boys Town National Research Hospital.
Requirements
  • Education: You must possess a Doctor of Medicine Degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Certifications: You must be certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and in gastroenterology and nutrition from the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-board in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
  • Licensure: You must possess or be able to attain medical licensure in the State of Nebraska.
  • Faculty Appointment: You must have, or be able to qualify for, a Creighton University Medical School faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics and be able to qualify for clinical hospital privileges.
  • Experience: You must have a minimum of three years pediatric residency training and additional training in gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition, including medical research and treatment of infants, children, and teens with digestive, liver, and nutritional disorders.
