Key Responsibilities:
The Department of Anesthesia is actively seeking qualified Pediatric Anesthesiologists for faculty positions on either the Clinical or Tenure Track at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels.
- Engaging in collaborative anesthesia care while personally administering anesthesia.
- Participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Contributing to the academic endeavors of the department and the Carver College of Medicine.
- Overseeing students, residents, fellows, SRNAs, and non-anesthesia rotators.
- Providing constructive feedback to those under supervision, both verbally and in writing.
- Creating educational resources and leading or attending academic lectures and professional development sessions.
- Exhibiting a commitment to fostering an inclusive team-oriented work environment.
- Engaging in research activities is encouraged, although it is not a prerequisite for continued employment or advancement.
Qualifications:
- We welcome candidates of all experience levels to apply.
- Applicants must possess a medical degree (or equivalent), having successfully completed an accredited residency in anesthesiology and a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship.
- The selected candidate must be eligible for or already possess an active Iowa medical license.
- Candidates should be board-certified in Anesthesiology (or hold an equivalent non-US certification) or be in the process of certification.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective collaboration in an inclusive environment and be adept in team-based anesthesia care.
- Interest in teaching and/or engaging in basic or clinical research is desirable.
