Job Opportunity: Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist

The University of Iowa Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our team. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing anesthesia care to pediatric patients undergoing cardiac surgery.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in team-based anesthesia care and provide anesthesia services to pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the academic activities of the department and the Carver College of Medicine.
  • Supervise students, residents, and fellows in the department.
  • Develop and implement educational materials and lead academic lectures and professional development events.
  • Demonstrate experience in promoting an inclusive team-based work environment.
  • Encouraged to participate in research activities, although not required for employment or promotion.
Requirements:
  • Candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants must have a medical school degree and completion of an approved residency program in anesthesiology and fellowship(s) in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology.
  • The selected candidate must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active Iowa medical license.
  • Candidates must be board-certified in Anesthesiology or be in the certification process.
  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working effectively in an inclusive environment and be comfortable with team-based anesthesia care.
  • Interest in teaching and/or basic or clinical research is desired.
