Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our team at the University of Iowa. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing anesthesia care to pediatric patients undergoing cardiac surgery.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in team-based anesthesia care and provide high-quality anesthesia services to pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the academic activities of the department and the Carver College of Medicine.
  • Supervise students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement educational materials and lead academic lectures and professional development events.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to promoting an inclusive team-based work environment.
  • Engage in research activities, although participation is not required for continued employment or promotion.
Requirements
  • Candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants must have a medical school degree and successful completion of an approved residency program in anesthesiology and fellowship(s).
  • The selected candidate must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active Iowa medical license.
  • Candidates must be board-certified in Anesthesiology or be in the certification process.
  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working effectively in an inclusive environment and be comfortable with team-based anesthesia care.
  • Interest in teaching and/or basic or clinical research is a plus.
Desired Qualifications
  • Fellowship training or equivalent clinical experience in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology is highly desirable.
  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working effectively in an inclusive environment and be comfortable with team-based anesthesia care.
  • Interest in teaching and/or basic or clinical research is a plus.
