Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Automation and Control Systems Specialist to join our team. This role involves the development, design, maintenance, and commissioning of automation and control systems tailored for industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and program logic for PLCs, drive systems, and combustion control systems.
* Develop SCADA and operator interface applications.
* Create databases and write custom software for PLC and SCADA system integration.
* Utilize standard procedures to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components, diagnosing and resolving issues effectively.
* Generate project manuals and electrical schematics using CAD software.
* Prepare scope of work, cost estimates, and budgets for electrical systems.
* Acquire comprehensive knowledge of SCR systems, including fluid systems, operations, metallurgy, maintenance, material handling, and machine operation.
* Assist with on-site commissioning of all components of an SCR system.
* Transfer knowledge to SCR customers through training, discussions, presentations, and startup assistance.
Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in the chemical or manufacturing sector, particularly in industrial processing equipment, instrumentation and control, AC and DC drives, PLCs, and combustion systems.
* Proficiency with Allen Bradley or Siemens PLCs and drive systems.
* Experience with CAD software, specifically AutoCAD.
* Familiarity with SCADA systems and HMI applications.
* Strong skills in computer programming, networking, database management, and reporting.
* Ability to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and evolve into a technical resource and subject matter expert.
* Willingness to travel internationally up to 35%.
* Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, interpersonal, and project management skills are essential.
