As an Associate Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting activities related to general accounting, general ledger, special projects, and government accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare monthly journal entries, reconcile various general ledger accounts, and analyze accounting transactions to ensure proper classification.
  • Financial Reporting: Book sales and profit in accordance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Cash Management: Process and reconcile cash receipts from lockbox deposits, ACH, and wire transfers to the ledger.
  • Accounts Receivable: Research and resolve issues such as short payments, overpayments, and payments without remittance instructions.
  • Cash Distribution: Support cash distribution processes.
  • Customer Credit: Responsible for the collection of accounts receivable balances, work with management to analyze new and existing customer credit history, and recommend terms or changes in terms.
  • External Audits: May work with external auditors and company staff to troubleshoot issues/concerns and identify resolutions.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other functional groups within the business to gather or provide information and address questions/problems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Is supportive of and participates in continuous improvement projects; takes advantage of tools and programs that will increase the accuracy and efficiency of accounting practices.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1+ year of experience, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with revenue recognition regulations.
  • Credit and Collections: Basic credit and collections knowledge.
  • Data Entry: Intermediate data entry skills needed.
  • Software Skills: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (e.g. V-Look Up and Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint.
  • Organizational Skills: Possesses and maintains good organizational skills and detail orientation.
  • Communication Skills: Good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners.
  • Judgment and Discretion: Ability to use good judgement and discretion; able to ask questions and raise issues/concerns constructively and in a timely manner.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and cost accounting standards (CAS), preferred.
