Position Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated and driven Associate Attorney to enhance our Tort & Catastrophic Loss practice group. This role is pivotal in our Walnut Creek, California office, where you will contribute to our dynamic trial team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture client relationships by providing legal counsel, clarifying options, and representing clients in negotiations and court proceedings.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, draft essential documents, and devise strategies to effectively resolve cases.
  • Communicate potential outcomes and legal options to clients, ensuring they are well-informed.
  • Foster trust-based relationships with clients, remaining attentive to their needs.
  • Develop compelling arguments and advocate for clients in both civil and criminal matters.
  • Prepare legal documents, including contracts and pleadings, with precision and timeliness.
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation and legal trends.
  • Uphold ethical standards and comply with all applicable laws.
  • Collaborate with colleagues or work independently to formulate case strategies.
  • Exhibit strong negotiation, research, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard client interests.
  • Engage in firm culture through committee participation.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid academic foundation.
  • Proactive, knowledgeable, and attentive to detail.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and public speaking abilities.
  • Self-driven and goal-oriented, with a proven record of achieving billable hour targets.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
  • Willingness to adhere to best practices and procedures.
  • Personable demeanor with a knack for maintaining client relationships.
  • Organized and effective in managing tasks.
  • Professional and capable of fostering positive interactions with staff.
  • Proficient in technology and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with iManage and/or OneDrive is advantageous.
