Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and diligent Associate Attorney to enhance our Tort & Catastrophic Loss practice group in our Walnut Creek office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture client relationships by providing comprehensive legal counsel, clarifying legal options, and representing clients in negotiations and court proceedings.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, draft essential legal documents, and devise strategies aimed at achieving favorable outcomes for cases.
  • Communicate potential legal options and outcomes to clients, ensuring they are well-informed throughout the process.
  • Build trust-based relationships with clients, maintaining responsiveness to their needs at all times.
  • Develop compelling arguments and represent clients in both civil and criminal legal matters.
  • Prepare various legal documents, including contracts and pleadings, with precision and timeliness.
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation, particularly in specialized legal areas.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ethical practices and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Work autonomously or collaboratively with a team of attorneys to formulate effective case strategies.
  • Exhibit strong negotiation, research, and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Show adaptability and meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and safeguard client interests.
  • Contribute positively to the Firm's culture through active involvement in committees.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Must be in good standing and authorized to practice law in California.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking abilities and a solid academic foundation.
  • Proactive, knowledgeable, and attentive to detail.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, public speaking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-driven and goal-oriented, with a proven track record of achieving billable hour targets.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Personable and capable of maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and effective in managing tasks.
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in technology and Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with iManage and/or OneDrive is a plus.
