Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and diligent Associate Attorney to enhance our Tort & Catastrophic Loss practice group in our Walnut Creek office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture client relationships, providing legal counsel and representation in court and during negotiations.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, draft essential documents, and devise strategies to achieve favorable case resolutions.
  • Communicate legal options to clients, highlighting potential outcomes and risks.
  • Build trust-based relationships with clients, ensuring responsiveness to their needs.
  • Develop and present arguments in both criminal and civil legal proceedings.
  • Prepare legal documents, including contracts and pleadings, efficiently and accurately.
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation and legal trends within specialized areas.
  • Uphold ethical standards and comply with all applicable laws.
  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys to formulate effective case strategies.
  • Exhibit strong negotiation, research, and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard client interests.
  • Engage in firm culture through participation in committees.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active membership and good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid academic foundation.
  • Proactive, knowledgeable, and attentive to detail.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and public speaking abilities.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented, with a proven ability to meet billable hour targets.
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to firm best practices.
  • Personable demeanor with the capability to maintain client relationships.
  • Organized and effective in managing tasks.
  • Professional and able to collaborate well with colleagues.
  • Proficient in technology and Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with iManage and/or OneDrive is a plus.
