We are currently in search of a proficient Financial Management Specialist to deliver comprehensive financial oversight, audit resolution, accounting, and reporting services for a federal agency dedicated to safeguarding the public from significant risks associated with consumer products. This position plays a vital role in enhancing financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the achievement of a clean audit opinion.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Federal accounting principles, procurement regulations (including the Federal Acquisition Regulations [FAR]), and relevant legislation such as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Act and the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA). Familiarity with the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM) and pertinent Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate comprehensive support for audit interactions, accounting transactions, financial reporting, and audit remediation.
  • Design, implement, and validate corrective action plans to address identified Material Weaknesses.
  • Resolve deficiencies noted in financial statement audits, with a focus on entity-level controls and management of property, plant, and equipment (PPE).
  • Provide expert guidance in PP&E (e.g., SFFAS 6) and Federal accounting standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) credentials.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
