Key Responsibilities:
As a Hospice Aide/CNA, your role will include:
- Addressing personal care needs based on patient assignments and responding promptly to requests.
- Communicating effectively with patients and families while maintaining confidentiality and respect.
- Ensuring patient safety by using equipment properly and adhering to safety protocols.
- Providing personal care services such as bathing, grooming, and changing bed linens as needed.
- Assisting with meal preparation and feeding as required.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, as directed.
- Observing and reporting any significant changes in the patient's condition to the Case Manager.
- Supporting patients with mobility and exercise as instructed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining a clean and organized living environment for patients.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and adhering to professional conduct standards.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Completion of state training requirements, including a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
- At least six months of experience in providing personal care.
- Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care provided.
- Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort in providing care to terminally ill patients.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Current CPR certification and satisfactory references from previous employers.
