Job Summary

The Curriculum Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality education programs at Sheltering Arms. This position is responsible for maintaining educational standards, providing coaching and training to staff, and collaborating with the Center Director and Family Support Coach to achieve program goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement curriculum plans that align with Sheltering Arms' educational philosophy and standards.
  2. Provide coaching and training to staff on best practices in early childhood education, including observation and assessment techniques, lesson planning, and classroom management.
  3. Collaborate with the Center Director and Family Support Coach to develop and implement staff training programs, including new teacher orientation and ongoing professional development.
  4. Conduct regular classroom observations and provide feedback to staff on their teaching practices.
  5. Assist with the development and implementation of educational materials and resources, including curriculum guides, activity plans, and assessment tools.
  6. Participate in staff meetings and provide input on program development and implementation.
  7. Stay current with best practices in early childhood education and apply this knowledge to improve program quality.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and three years of experience in a similar role.
  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, families, and community partners.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices, including child development, learning theories, and curriculum design.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and to sit on the floor and interact with children.
