Job Summary

The Curriculum Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the quality of education standards at our centers. This position serves as a role model for teaching techniques, discipline, and professional growth and development. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between teaching staff and center management, maintaining center resources and supply areas.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Observation and Feedback: Routinely observe classrooms using standardized observation forms and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
  2. Teacher Support: Assist teachers in self-evaluation and goal setting, and follow up on previous goals to ensure progress.
  3. Mentorship: Serve as a mentor teacher, working in classrooms when needed, and provide coaching for developmentally appropriate practice.
  4. Professional Development: Model and provide coaching for teachers on best practices, and conduct regular meetings with the management team to share concerns and progress.
  5. Resource Management: Ensure that resource and supply areas are organized and orderly, and assist with ordering materials as needed.
  6. Training and Development: Provide onsite staff training for teachers and parents, and assist with area and agency training.
  7. Curriculum Development: Meet regularly with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to share curriculum concerns and assist in the development of curriculum materials.
  8. Communication: Participate in staff and parent meetings, and keep informed of current information on child development through reading and attending conferences and workshops.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field, and three years of administrative or supervisory experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of classroom experience with children birth to five, and two years of experience supervising adults in a child care and education setting.
  • Skills: High degree of oral and written communication skills, ability to lift at least 50 lbs, and willingness to work as a team member.
