Purpose:

The Electrical Maintenance Lead reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. This role is responsible for guiding and leading maintenance technicians in the repair and upkeep of plant equipment. The ideal candidate will strive to minimize maintenance costs while ensuring adherence to company policies, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in machine preventative maintenance (PM) activities and repairs, dedicating 75% of their time on the production floor.
  • Begin each shift by collaborating with the previous shift's technician to discuss breakdowns and plan upcoming tasks.
  • Develop and execute PM schedules, leading technicians to maintain machines in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
  • Troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Qualifications:

  • An associate's degree in industrial electronics/electricity or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer applications is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong teamwork relationships.

Physical Requirements:

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and on occasion, they must lift and/or move 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to focus, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Equipment Operation:

The employee must be proficient in operating relevant mechanical and electrical hand tools, electrical test equipment, and alignment tools. Experience with powered equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts is also required. Familiarity with office equipment like computers, copiers, and fax machines is beneficial.
