Apex Systems is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist with a strong background in contract negotiation and execution.

Contract Duration : 2 years

Key Responsibilities:


The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Supply Operations team.

Oversees and executes daily procurement activities, including Purchase Orders and various agreements for goods and services, while addressing any invoicing discrepancies that may occur.



  • Develop, negotiate, and finalize Purchase Orders, Releases, Amendments, Assignments, and other low to moderate risk contracts primarily for services and some materials, utilizing company systems and established templates.
  • Experience with SAP Ariba Sourcing Software and SAP Ariba Contracts Management Software is highly advantageous.
  • Manage the onboarding and maintenance of new suppliers.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients in effective contract management and administration.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments, including Legal, Accounts Payable, and Risk Management.
  • Address and resolve conflicts between suppliers and the organization.
  • Promote continuous improvement in procurement processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency through documentation tracking.
  • Maintain records to verify adherence to proper contracting protocols and supplier relationship management.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of all Purchase to Pay tools.
  • Resolve any Purchase Order and invoicing issues as they arise.
  • Focus on contributing to Supplier Diversity and Diverse Business Enterprises (DBE) objectives.
  • Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with teams and suppliers to minimize overall costs.
  • Perform additional Supply Management duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:


  • A bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, along with 8 years of supply management experience.
  • A Master's Degree in Business Administration or other advanced qualifications is highly desirable. A valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience in purchasing materials and/or services, with a proven track record of managing purchases exceeding $1,000,000, and/or 4 years of experience in specific service and/or material expertise.
  • Possession of a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) designation or similar professional certification in Supply Management is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of contracting and supply management principles.
  • Familiarity with contract management and/or accounting systems is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, seek input from others, and present information clearly and concisely.
  • Proactive in identifying customer needs and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Contributes significantly to team goals, values the input of others, and encourages team participation.
  • Systematically gathers relevant information and comprehensively defines issues.
  • Exhibits personal integrity in all communications and decisions.
  • Action-oriented with a focus on achieving results and maintaining high performance standards.
