Marketing Instructor

InsideHigherEd is inviting applications for a Marketing Instructor position within the Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sales, and Analytics. This role involves delivering both online and in-person marketing courses, including Digital Marketing, Marketing Fundamentals, Marketing Management, and additional subjects as required. This is a permanent, full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track role. The rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. We seek candidates who are committed to providing exceptional teaching and mentoring to students while fulfilling scholarly or professional engagement standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in graduate and undergraduate Marketing courses, both online and on-campus.
  • Teaching responsibilities may vary but will likely encompass courses in Digital Marketing, Marketing Fundamentals, Marketing Management, and others as designated.
  • The ideal candidate will also have the capacity to provide specialized instruction in areas such as marketing analytics, customer relationship management, marketing logistics, or digital and social media marketing.
  • The expected teaching load is typically 5 courses per semester.
  • Opportunities for summer courses may be available for additional compensation.
  • Meet scholarly and/or professional engagement requirements to maintain faculty qualifications in the relevant AACSB category.
  • Engage with and mentor students in exploring career opportunities and placements in alignment with the mission of the department and institution.
  • Collaborate in a team-oriented environment and contribute to the department, school, and institution. Foster positive interactions with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Appointment to this position is contingent upon successfully passing a background check.

Required Qualifications:
  • A master's degree in Marketing or a closely related field is mandatory.
  • Candidates must meet the faculty qualifications standards for the appropriate AACSB classification.
  • Candidates with a PhD must fulfill the academic requirements to qualify as Scholarly Academic (SA) or the academic and professional requirements to qualify as Practice Academic (PA).
  • Candidates with a master's degree must meet the academic and professional requirements to qualify as Scholarly Practitioner (SP) or the professional requirements to qualify as Instructional Practitioner (IP).
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to provide an outstanding educational experience for students.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in engaging and mentoring students in co-curricular and extracurricular activities, as well as in career exploration and job placement.
  • Experience in online course development and teaching is preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience in the marketing field.
