The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Operations Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee all financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and President.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight: Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Budget Management: Develop and monitor budgets, forecast financial performance, and provide variance analysis.
  • Accounts Payable: Supervise accounts payable processes to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations of bank statements, accounts, and financial discrepancies.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including cash flow projections, aging reports, and financial statements. Provide insights and recommendations for financial performance improvements.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance and development.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in property management accounting is a plus.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel. Experience with Yardi is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with a track record of managing and developing teams effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in financial reporting and record-keeping.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
