At Baptist Memorial Health Care, we are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of laboratory results, which are essential for patient care and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive, identify, and prioritize specimens to ensure timely and accurate test processing.
• Perform and report laboratory procedures, including quality control and proficiency testing.
• Maintain inventory control, order supplies, and perform routine instrument maintenance.
• Evaluate patient identification to reduce analytical and post-analytical errors.
• Support ongoing training and education for new hires and staff members.
Requirements and Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Completion of a medical laboratory technician program or equivalent experience.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent certification required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
