Job Overview:
The Lime Kiln Process Specialist is tasked with overseeing the lime kiln operations and related production units.

This role involves spearheading the formulation of methodologies, protocols, and instruments linked to the lime production process aimed at minimizing operational costs and enhancing efficiency while ensuring product quality, adhering to emission standards, and prioritizing safety.

The specialist is accountable for the ongoing enhancement and optimization of combustion and calcination processes, as well as resource utilization. Conducts thorough root cause analyses to identify the most effective corrective measures.

Engages proactively with plant management and the workforce to ensure cohesive collaboration with maintenance and production teams in fulfilling the responsibilities of the Lime Kiln Process Specialist.

Fosters robust interpersonal connections and collaborates across various organizational levels to address production and process challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
Identify production constraints, devise action plans, implement them, and evaluate outcomes.

Facilitates daily briefings with operators and team leaders to communicate production goals, identify challenges faced during shifts, and relay information to relevant personnel; participates in additional meetings as necessary.

Provides technical assistance to production, maintenance, environmental, and quality assurance teams. Monitors process reliability to evaluate the financial benefits of enhancements. Conducts inspections during significant outages of refractory materials and instrumentation, and prepares shutdown documentation. Records issues related to processes or systems as observed or reported by production staff. Reviews findings with the plant team to initiate, suggest, provide, and/or execute solutions. Conducts process and energy assessments to uncover cost-saving opportunities.

Monitors and analyzes raw materials to optimize the use of available fuels and stone, performing cost-benefit analyses.

Evaluates stone quality, size, gradation, and fuel quality, assessing their impact on product standards. Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures and manuals. Trains operational staff on kiln operations. Drives compliance with environmental testing requirements. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, Minerals Processing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering capacity within maintenance or operations is required. Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting is essential.

Experience in manufacturing sectors related to mining, paper production, steel manufacturing, refractory materials, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement production, rotary kilns, etc., is preferred. Experience in lime and cement industries is advantageous.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate a proactive and positive demeanor with a strong initiative and the capability to work independently.

Must be willing to spend significant time in the plant alongside operators, maintenance teams, and contractors; effective communication of production and process strategies is crucial.

Willingness to travel to other sites and regions as required. Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills are necessary. Detail-oriented with robust problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Candidates should be able to support a culture of continuous improvement and assist in change management initiatives.

The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
