Job Title: Certified Athletic Trainer

Calvert County Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our athletic department, you will be responsible for overseeing and supervising all aspects of the athletic training program at Calvert High School.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and supervise all aspects of the athletic training program, including prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
  • Conduct athlete intake assessments and maintain accurate medical records for all athletes.
  • Develop and implement customized treatment plans and make recommendations for ideal steps in athlete care.
  • Coordinate with the activities director to create Emergency Action Plans and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Design and implement rehabilitation and training programs for athletes, including instruction on injury prevention and health and nutrition.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow required procedures and practices.
  • Attend annual conferences and workshops to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in athletic training.
  • Collaborate with coaches, athletes, and other staff members to ensure a safe and healthy athletic environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a NATA-approved program; Master's degree preferred.
  • State of Maryland Board of Physicians Athletic Training License.
  • CPR/AED certification (instructor preferred).
  • Experience as a certified/licensed Athletic Trainer preferred.
Working Conditions:

This is a 6-day per week, 40-hour per week position with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when school is not open. The work year is July 1 - May 31, with the ability to arrange schedule to cover summer camps as required.
