We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Hunter Truck. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HRIS management.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires a strong understanding of HR principles and practices. You will work closely with our HR Manager to develop and implement HR strategies that align with our company's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and negotiating offers for various positions.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
  • Utilize various sourcing techniques to identify and attract diverse candidates.
  • Conduct initial screenings and interviews to assess candidate qualifications and fit with our company culture.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring teams, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Provide guidance and support to hiring managers on interview techniques, candidate evaluation, and selection decisions.
  • Manage job postings on internal and external platforms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with employment laws.
  • Act as Lead Investigator in employment-related issues and concerns.
  • Handle employee relations counseling as needed.
  • Manage annual employee handbook review process, ensuring relevant updates are included.
  • Monitor HR departmental policy and procedure manual to ensure all areas of the HR function are current.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and other related issues.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives, such as performance management, employee engagement surveys, and talent development programs.
  • Stay updated on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all HR practices and policies.
  • Prepare and maintain reports related to HR metrics, such as recruitment status, turnover rates, and training participation.
  • Act as back-up to all benefit administration duties and responsibilities.
  • Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.
  • Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Maintain HRIS records and compile reports from ADP database.
  • Adhere to and promote all existing health and safety policies in the workplace to reinforce our company culture.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development.
  • HR certification (i.e., PHR, SHRM) preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal employment-related requirements and regulations.
  • Problem-solving skills, including identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Interpersonal skills, including maintaining confidentiality and being open to others' ideas.
  • Written communication skills, including editing work for spelling and grammar.
  • Planning and organizing skills, including prioritizing and planning work activities.
  • Quality control skills, including demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Adaptability, including adapting to changes in the work environment.
  • Dependability, including consistently being at work and following instructions.
  • Safety and security skills, including promoting and personally observing safety and security procedures.

Travel Requirements

This role requires travel, combined of local and overnights, up to 25% of the time, to schools, career fairs, and our locations in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
