Per Diem Mental Health Technician with Behavioral Health Emergency Department

As a Per Diem Mental Health Technician with the Behavioral Health Emergency Department at Dartmouth Health, you will play a vital role in providing continuous care and supervision of patients to ensure a safe and secure environment. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities- Assist with routine patient care activities, including assisting patients with activities of daily living, obtaining clinical data, and performing point of care.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by keeping hallways clear of excess equipment and emptying linen bags.
- Assist visitors and answer telephones.
- Follow and participate in patient's plan of care.
- Assist with the management of aggressive patients.
- Assist in monitoring and/or care of patients who require close observation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to establish goals and restrictions of privileges based on the patients behavior and level of care.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in mental health or human services related field preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare or mental health preferred.
- Excellent communication skills desired with the ability to work collaboratively as member of multi-disciplinary team.
