Overview

As a Speech Language Pathologist I, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing patients to set functional, measurable objectives aimed at enhancing their functional capabilities. You will deliver treatment in accordance with a structured care plan to achieve the defined objectives.

Your role includes planning for patient discharge and effectively communicating findings and progress in alignment with professional licensure, certification, and departmental policies.

You may also be involved in producing additional reports as required and supervising clinical students and support personnel, including certified assistants and volunteers. Adherence to the ASHA Code of Ethics is essential, as is fostering a supportive environment that promotes health and recovery. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients utilizing both subjective and objective data.

2. Communicate evaluation results to patients and their caregivers.

3. Implement treatment strategies based on established objectives outlined in the care plan.

4. Document all interventions and care provided in the patient's medical records.

5. Assess the effectiveness of the care plan and make necessary adjustments to the patient's functional status.

6. Provide discharge planning information, including education for patients and families, follow-up care, and referrals to community resources.

7. Contribute to the professional development of staff and students.

8. Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery.

9. Complete assigned objectives in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Experience:
Entry-level position.

Licensure and Certification:
Must possess SLP licensure; BLS certification required within 14 days of hire.

Skills:
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in keyboarding, mouse usage, and navigating online platforms.
