Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Covington, Georgia

Position Description:

Covington Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will be integral in providing high-quality speech and language services to students, helping them overcome communication challenges and achieve their academic and personal goals. We are looking for a professional who is dedicated to student success and skilled in developing individualized therapy plans.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students.
  • Create and implement tailored treatment plans that address the unique needs of each student.
  • Deliver therapeutic services to students in both one-on-one and group settings.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student progress and ensure therapy goals are integrated into classroom activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of student assessments, progress, and therapy sessions.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, providing valuable input for the development of student goals and objectives.
  • Conduct screenings and assessments to identify students in need of speech-language intervention.
  • Stay current with the latest developments, research, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
  • Provide training and resources to school staff and parents to support students communication development.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Valid Georgia state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certification from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Preferably, experience in a school setting.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
  • State Licensure: Must hold a valid Speech-Language Pathology license issued by the Georgia Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
  • Professional Certification: Must possess the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Educator Certification: Must hold a valid Speech and Language Pathology Service (S-5) Certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC).
