Flight Systems Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Systems Operations Specialist to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Test & Flight Operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the processing of systems from receipt to launch and landing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the processing of systems from receipt to launch and landing
  • Work closely with the Sr Manager of New Glenn Launch Vehicle Fluids Operations to develop operational requirements
  • Conduct integrated flight systems testing
  • Lead a team of technicians and engineers to ensure the safety and readiness of the launch vehicle and associated ground systems
  • Develop ground software requirements
  • Conduct data reviews post-flight
  • Identify areas for process improvements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Math
  • 6+ years of technical expertise in cryogenic, propellant handling, or engine systems
  • Strong operations planning and organizational skills
  • Effective technical communications capabilities
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of hydraulic system operation and maintenance
  • Recent experience with launch vehicle integration and launch operations
  • Control room or operations experience in a high-consequence environment
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or simulations testing
  • Strong safety record and attitude
  • Strong project management and team leadership skills
