In addition to our investment activities, our team actively participates in strategy development, management recruitment, business growth, fundraising, and various operational roles within our portfolio companies.
Position Overview: We are seeking an Investment Analyst to become a vital member of the MBC investment team. This role will be based in a hybrid work environment, with an expectation of being on-site at our collaborative lab spaces in the Bay Area at least four days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct, document, and organize comprehensive scientific, strategic, financial, and operational due diligence for investment opportunities, along with developing financial models to inform portfolio decisions.
- Perform market analysis, research on disease areas, and competitive assessments, as well as create presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support various initiatives related to MBC's company creation efforts, portfolio company operations, and the broader network of entrepreneurs and advisors.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or M.D. is preferred, along with four or more years of analytical experience in life science-focused management consulting, investment banking, or equity research, or relevant business, finance, or operational experience.
- A strong familiarity with and passion for drug discovery, biotechnology, and the pharmaceutical sector is essential.
